The Everglades

You can take an airboat ride through the Everglades. The Everglades are subtropical swamps in Florida with various habitats such as cypress swamps, sea grass fields and mangroves. The Everglades National Park was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979. There are more than 360 species of birds and 27 species of snakes living in the Everglades. In addition to reptiles such as alligators and crocodiles, the wetlands are also home to endangered species. The rarest animal is the endangered panther. 

Key West

Die Florida Keys, eine lange Kette von Korallenriffen, stellt das zweite Naturwunder dieser Region im Süden des Bundesstaates dar. Der Overseas Highway verbindet die Keys mit dem Festland. Key West ist der südlichste Punkt des US-Festlands und die reichste Stadt Floridas. Besichtigen Sie unter anderem das Hemingway Home – Die wohl bekannteste Attraktion der Stadt. Hemingway lebte hier 1931 – 40 und verfasste dort mehrere seiner Werke.
